I really have some advice for the councils...

Ever genuinely felt the need to give some constructive criticism but alas there was no way to make that input? This is probably a normal dilemma for most citizens especially regarding matters of governance.

Over the last 18 months we have been working assiduously to develop the Barbadian model of Constituency Councils. It has been an interesting challenge but we believe that these are exciting times which provide us with a once in a lifetime opportunity to revolutionise governance in this little land of ours.

Despite our best efforts we recognise that we can't get anything 100% right the first time and even if we do, the time for improvement will soon follow. So that for us, change will be a constant!

What we also know is that we are dependent on your input. No one woman or man can ever posses all of the answers. It is for this reason that we invite you to share any information on your views of how we can become better for Barbados.

How possible would it be to have a Tuk Band or Steel Band emerging from each constituency. I think this could go a long way in developing a harmonious relationship among the youth in the island. I could also help in making Crop Over bigger and better in that we could see Crop Over bands say for Pan On The Sand and Pan I The City and such like.

Can I expect to see the financial statements and associated reports of what my council has done for Christ Church West?

I suspect this is a broader question across the country too!
