Presentation of Baskets – St John Constituency Council
Tuesday, 14 May 2013 12:59

Sunday May 12th, 2013 was an extra special day for twin sisters Doris Mayers and Vida Lewis. Not only was it Mother’s day for them but their 88th birthday as well.

The ladies warmly greeted members of the St. John Constituency Council (Richard Harris, Gail Riley, Eldona Reid & Rashida Beckles) and welcomed us into their residence in Foster Hall, St. John. Nicely clad in beautiful hats and shirt suits the ladies thanked members for taking the time to come and for remembering their special day.

Between the two sisters they had nineteen (19) children which further produced over thirty (30) grandchildren and over forty (40) great-grandchildren between them. Although they have a few ailments their memory, speech and spirits are high and energetic as they reminisced and shared about their past as well as their daily activities.

When asked if they had any advice for the youth, they stated’ learn to do something for the good of yourselves and keep good company!”
