St Michael Council South Central Constituency Council installing Smoke alarms

Members of the St Michael Council South Central Constituency Council doing a walk about in Bannister Land and Baycraft Alley installing Smoke alarms in the closely mint community.

We believed that this would first alert resident of a pending fire so they can take action early, the council distribute over 1000 Smoke Alarms in the constituency.

Footballers of the St Michael South Central Constituency Council Team spending some time on Saturday morning de-bushing the vine and bush behind the Girl Guide headquarters in Halls Road.

Presentation of Benches

In an effort to assist the community the St Michael South Central Constituency Council, took on a project to build and paint two benches for the Erdiston Nursery School.

Ms Rowe Head teacher of the school indicated that the Play Park needed some item to make the Park playable again ,we try to get other members of the cooperate Barbados to help in this project but so far we were unable to get the support from them and we decided that we would give to the park by starting with these two benches which were a welcome gift for the students.

Christ Church South Vendors Market & Health Fair 2015

The Christ Church South Constituency Council is scheduled to host a Vendors Market and Health Fair in the Car Park opposite Granny’s Restaurant, Oistins, Christ Church on Saturday, February 21, 2015 from 9.00am to 6.00pm

Residents from the Constituency and other interested persons are invited to register and participate in the activity.

Community Impact Programme – Cake & Pastry Making Class

This seven (7) weeks’ class started on July 31st 2014 at 10:00am at the St. Lawrence Primary School, St. Lawrence, Christ Church and concluded on October 7th, 2014.

The aim of the programme was to:

  • Empower persons through the acquiring of new skills
  • Creation of small businesses

Some of the topics covered were:

  • Introduction to develop the skills in preparing, baking and finishing multiple pastry dishes.
  • Introduction to Health and Food Safety
  • Introduction to pastry making methods and products, pâté ‘aforce’ short pastries, flans and tarts
